Love & Ethics…A lesson in post – greek authority…

http://www.iep.utm.edu/love/#H6 According to ancient Greek philosophy, Philos = love and describes a passionate desire for some’one’ or some’thing’. It denotes an attraction to or fondness for and love is to place a value on those existing elements. This said, only in part, the concept of love itself has basis in thoughts and feelings that also, besides self involve an external recipient or intangible concept; therefore must be committed to the standards that govern ethical behavior since love is considered an operable and affective behavior. The opinion on what it means to ‘love’ or ‘be loved’, throughout time has taken on many different and separate identities according to what rationale’ is used in it’s inference. To say that “I love my wife” immediately after a man has just left his mistress’ bedside is an act of hypocrisy and is immediately subject to ethical judgement. He obviously does not possess ‘true’ love toward his wife as defined in ancient philosophical terms as if he did, the merit of his actions would not have needed to be charged or investigated and his infinite love for his wife would have been obvious through his intent which would not have included extra-marital affairs… Ethics do exist in love and it being the most powerful and compelling emotion that someone can express or accept should be determined through examining the concept as a whole instead of being calculated by the amount of it actually inferred per situation. Living to exist wholly with and adore unconditionally your intimate counterpart should take precedence above the selfish abandon of good faith and will concerning something as delicately precious and eternally absolute as ‘Love’!!!!

  1. I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a
blog that’s equally educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the
head. The problem is something which not enough folks are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I stumbled across this in my hunt for something concerning this.

    • Thank you. It took a great deal of consideration for me to write this blog in the first place because of it’s brutally honest nature. But I have had so much positive feedback it just reaffirms my ideas that maybe people would just like to hear the truth for once. Keep followin’. Much more to come.
