Identifying your target market

Identifying your prospective ‘next’ can be quite a mission for some. Myself included! Still being hung up a lil’ on why the ex’ didn’t work out can keep the stoplight yellow for awhile and make it even more difficult to get on with it. The dream didn’t croak and it’s time to start planning for the future. First things first though! Standards must be addressed realistically in terms of who and what type. Where are the best places to make an appearance and what are my present offerings to the world of archetype-driven, mad-scrambling, speedy-inquisitional, tell one lie and you’re toast singles scene??

I can tell you from experience that if you’re seeking more than a spring-break fling you better ‘BRING IT’! There are too many opportunistic and well-versed charismatics that’ll pull the “uhhhh…..could I call you sometime” right out from under your loafers. Some sort of defined strategy is definitely worth an examination. I won’t go into too much detail because I’m assuming that most of us know what a SWOT analysis is. ‘Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats’! This should be your personal inventory of characteristics that attract the opposing sex with a knowledge that you ain’t the only one out there lookin’ for a piece of the action.

A general target market should consist of individuals that share in comparable needs and wants and if you are well aware of what your needs and the like are then this shouldn’t be too terribly difficult. Next, step up to the plate as ‘YOU’ are your product and this calls for offering samples to the consumer public. Uh-oh! May need a lil’ ‘Confidence 101’ and if so, you’re not quite ready to take the leap. Have a good look at the surface and see if there are major or minor tweaks that need adjustment then back to the task at hand. Don’t let  something small be an obstacle since the ultimate goal here is to get to the bottom line.

Demo and Psycho-graphics should require some heavy consideration at this point. Noone needs another ‘rush to the alter or hey, where do you think you’re going’ situation! I never said this was going to be the easiest thing you’ve ever done if you possess ethics and ideals. Expectations come in many different forms and fashions. We need to think in terms of several obvious factors; financial position, career choice, current romantic involvement, stage in life and sorry people but it’s true,….physical appearance.

How many of the quality and value components do you wield? What positions you above the competition and where do you see yourself (the product) in the next 2 years? If you don’t believe that this ever-so increasingly demanding market calls for new and innovative advancements almost constantly, try throwing on some tragic-looking jeans, some old bowling shoes, a christmas sweater and borrow your bro’s Ranger, head for the nearest club and see how many phone numbers you leave with that night after confessing to collecting unemployment and still dealin’ with your feelings for the ex’!

Best wishes and Good luck!!!
